Hello and welcome

I’m Rosie. I was born and bred in London and now live in Surrey with my two boys, husband Callum, and our two cats.

After a thrilling time as Editor in Chief and Editor of HELLO! magazine, and latterly HELLO!'s Creative Brand Ambassador, having worked for the brand for over fifteen years, I decided it was time to super-charge my career and set up my own Consultancy! HELLO! is now one of my clients and I am proud to be Editor-at-Large, a role that enables me to collaborate with a large, trusted, national media brand, whilst flexing my creative muscles for external brands too. Before HELLO! I held senior positions at many national women's magazines including Grazia, Glamour and Red. My first role in magazines was Editor of Barbie magazine. (That's not why I'm wearing pink in this photo! Although it is one of my favourite colours).

You could say I have matured along with my media life. In 2017 I won the British Society of Editors' coveted Editor of the Year award (celebrity and entertainment). I enjoy a portfolio career now, mixing many of my work passions and utilising my skills as a media expert, author, coach and broadcaster...

From Magazine Production to Purpose-Driven Media Initiatives

As the media world has evolved, so have I, diversifying my skills to suit the times. I have swapped putting a magazine to press every week for hosting a sponsored wellbeing podcast for HELLO! called In A Good Place, a concept I devised and am hands-on in producing.  My remit now focuses on hosting events and using my network to create arresting events and concepts to support and inspire women. Some HELLO! highlights include the time I partnered with Dover Street Market to produce a host of HELLO!-inspired merch; the time I launched a ‘friendship’ candle with Jo Malone CBE; and the times I have smashed sales records, including breaking the world exclusive wedding of Robbie Williams to Ayda Field.

Writing is in my blood

From a young age, when I wasn’t cutting out the song lyrics from Smash Hits and refashioning them into my own magazine, I was writing letters and filling the pages of my diary. Writing is in my blood. Finally, I decided to fulfil my ambition to write a book and in 2016 Harper Collins published my first novel, The Stylist. My job as a glossy magazine editor inevitably helped with the subject matter but, I assure you, everything is fiction.

The following year I wrote the sequel Amber Green Takes Manhattan, and my third novel Just Between Friends – a thriller based around a baby group – was published in 2020. My novels have been published around the world and I am welcoming opportunities to discuss adaption for the screen.

During the pandemic I had the idea of collecting together a series of essays, tips and pearls of wisdom from some of my famous friends and contacts, on the subject of kindness. I was blown away by the response and my first non-fiction title Be Kind was born. It was also published by my pals at HQ Stories (Harper Collins). It was a proud moment to see this book used to inspire teenage girls in a school’s programme in Devon. I am passionate about the power of kindness and I love speaking on this subject.

I have two more books in the works – a third title in The Stylist series and another non-fiction book. I write best with a lit candle by my side.

Living life to the full

I am particularly attracted to collaborating with brands which genuinely help us to live and feel better. So when Gold Collagen approached me about leading their creative brand strategy in the UK, I jumped at the chance.

Gold Collagen became an instant bestseller in Boots when it launched in 2011, with a formulation to slow down the ageing process from the inside out with clinical trials proving long-lasting results in just three weeks. The range now also includes essential vitamins in tablets and complementary skincare treatments.

Having used the products for some time, I can personally attest to their effectiveness and I am on a mission to help them reach a new, wide audience across the UK. I am also a brand ambassador for an innovative new product launching in 2024. Watch this space for more updates in my blog.

Certified coach

Hankering to learn again, in 2023 I qualified as a certified coach passing my Associate Coach Diploma from Optimus Coach Academy. I absolutely love helping my clients through career and life transitions, enabling them to find the tools to realise a more purposeful and fulfilling lifestyle. I work with clients 1-1, and am available for group sessions and motivational talks. I regularly use my wealth of experience in the media world as a mentor too. I have some good stories ;-)

Doing my bit to make a positive difference to the world

I am a proud ambassador for the women’s health charity Wellbeing of Women and anti-FGM charity Educate Not Mutilate. I love being able to use my voice to highlight issues affecting the women of Britain today and was particularly proud of spearheading the launch of the Menopause Workplace Pledge campaign for HELLO! magazine and Wellbeing of Women in 2021, which has seen over 2000 companies and counting, pledge to better support women going through the perimenopause and menopause in the workplace. I launched and hosted the annual HELLO! Star Women Awards, devised to shine a spotlight on inspirational personalities both famous and non-famous and I am a leading voice in our powerful #hellotokindness campaign which aims to see a kinder world online. Empowering others is at the core of everything I do.

Ultimately, I thrive in communities with a common goal to spread joy and make a positive difference to the world. In any spare time, I can be found getting out into nature on a run in the Surrey Hills and chasing around after my lovely, lively boys.
